NEW YORK (September 8, 2014) – The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences (AAHS) announces D-Hotel Maris has been awarded the Six Star Diamond Award. The awards recognitions are the recent findings of an evaluation conducted by several highly trained members of the International AAHS Board of Trustees. All criteria have been met by academy standards, which include: overall guest satisfaction, accommodations, hotel facilities, professionalism carried out by hotel staff and above all quality of service. Since its inception in 1989, the Six Star Diamond Award has only been presented to a select 15 hotels worldwide and D-Hotel Maris is the first hotel in Eastern Europe to receive the prestigious Six Star Diamond Award.

The Six Star Diamond Award Ceremony took place on September 13th, 2014 at Datca Peninsula. D-Hotel Maris, Six Star Diamond recipient, hosted a lavish ceremony at the hotel's "Coliseum" Invitation only" VIP's and members of the international luxury hospitality industry. Guests got the chance to hear performances from world famous Operatic Soprano Emma Shapplin and Tenor Christopher Macchio as well as famous Turkish musician, composer, percussionist. Attending the ceremony was also Renowned Actor Armand Assante, a very versatile celebrity best known for his roles in movies such as, "Gotti," "The Mambo Kings," and "American Gangster" starring along with Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe "just to name a few." ZUMA Restaurant opened at D-Hotel Maris in Turkey
Following the success of last year’s Zuma pop-up over the 2013 summer season, Rainer Becker, co-founder and creator of Zuma, has decided to permanently open his award-winning contemporary Japanese restaurant at D-Hotel Maris in Turkey in June 2014. Zuma at D-Hotel Maris features a sushi counter and robata grill, a charcoal grill from Japan that Rainer Becker introduced to Europe ten years ago. The freshest fish available is sourced for the sushi and sashimi platters and signature dishes, served from both the main kitchen and the robata grill, include the famous jumbo tiger prawn with yuzu pepper (a Japanese citrus fruit) and the succulent chilli marinated lamb chops with pickled baby onion and carrots.
Zuma’s very own bar talent will mix creative cocktails such as the martini style Ama Mizu with fresh watermelon, sake and vodka and the Yoshi Nura with ginger, mint and lime - either with premium spirits or as non-alcoholic cleansers. House DJs add to the ambiance with eclectic beats, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the relaxed energy of Zuma.
